The Lanchester Library re-opened to all University staff and students on Monday 3rd August 2020. We’ve missed you all and we’re looking forward to welcoming you back and supporting your work and studies. We’ve had to make some changes to how we operate to ensure our spaces are as safe as possible so please read the following information carefully.
Access - You will only be allowed into the main body of the Library if you have pre-booked a study space or have an appointment at the IT tech bar. You can collect books ordered through our Click and Collect service, return books or use the quick print/scan/copy stations in the foyer area without a booking. You must have your ID card to enter the building and your booking confirmation to access a study space.
Study Spaces – to enter the Library you need to pre-book a study space. Spaces are available for 1-4 hours per booking or up to 8 hours for spaces on Floor 1 or for spaces with a Mac computer. You can book up to 7 slots per week.
Click and Collect – Coventry University has a huge collection of e-books and e-journals but there may still be some items that are only available in print. If you need a printed copy of a book, you can place a booking through the library online catalogue, Locate. Our staff will retrieve the item for you and you will be able to collect it next working day from our collection area at the main entrance to the Library. The LibGuide on click and collect gives more information on what to do. Alternatively if you have a space booking you can browse the selves and use self-issue.
Returning Books – from Monday 3rd August 2020, please return books to the Welcome area at the Main Entrance to the Library or if you have a space booking to the normal return point.
