The Postal Loan Request Service (PLRS) will post out books from the Library stock to staff and students that are unable to visit the Library. The service is primarily for distance students and students on placement. There is currently no charge for this service.

Please check Locate beforehand to ensure we have it in stock. Send your email to us with all relevant details. We will fetch the book from the shelf, issue it to your library record and post it to you.
The service is primarily aimed at students who are unable to get to the Library due to their location or the nature of their course, however the service is open to any registered student or staff member who has confirmed that the item(s) required are available in the library.
You may request any loanable book that you have checked is available on Locate.
How many items may I request?
When requesting books the limit is your Library issuing limit. (20 books)
Please ensure that you have space on your Library card for the books that you request.
How long will it take to receive my requests?
The service will aim to send out any available item to you within two working days of receiving your request.
We can only send books up to your standard issuing limit (20 books). Please ensure you have space on your ticket before requesting. We regret that we cannot send books overseas if you are working remotely. Some rare or particularly valuable volumes will also be exempt from being loaned by post.
We would prefer that you return the books by recorded delivery post. This will enable you to trace and recover the cost of the books if they go missing.
