LibGuides: The principles of a good reading list: One List

There should be one centralised reading list for all your reading to ensure:

	Clear student communication on where to access reading lists.
	Encourage better engagement by students.
	The library can make it available to students.
	Texts are updated to the latest editions and broken links are fixed.
	Resource provision is better understood for budgeting.

Please note:

Sylla Open Educational Resources (OERS) are just one part of your list and should be essential reading. You can add OER items to your list in Leganto as recommended reading by linking direct to the item.
If you put reading items in Aula and not on the list, you may be breaking copyright. The Library checks and secure copyright clearance for all list items.
Only if you put something on a reading list will the Library know you have recommended it and will provide it to your students.

Students have fed back the following about why it's important to have all reading in one place:

There is often more than one reading list and reading lists are often different to the reading given by tutors in Aula.
There are too many options between the lecture notes, presentations, directly on Aula, and the actual reading list.
There are lots of broken links on Aula pages to reading put up independently of the proper reading lists.
It’s very stressful and annoying having to have to look in so many places.
