With so many online resources, it may sometimes be tricky to find just what you need. In the tabs above we have provided some tips and tricks to help you with your research which will help you to save time.
If you require further support, we have qualified staff available to support you to find and use high-quality information. Please contact the librarians at your site for support with any of your research and referencing needs.
Support with Developing Your Research
Libraries and Learning Resources (LLR) support students of all levels.
LLR can:
- Show you how and where to search for content to support assignments
- Teach you how to get better results when searching online and in databases
- Support you with citing and referencing using institutional styles
Library staff offer support in-person (at campuses with a Library presence) and online, including:
- One-to-one individual appointments which can be booked online or by speaking to a member of Library staff
- A series of workshops which run throughout the academic year (in conjunction with colleagues across the University Group)
- A broad range of support materials to read/watch at your own pace, hosted on our LibGuides pages
The Academic Writing Service (AWS) is available to students of all levels.
AWS can:
- Help you develop good academic writing practices
- Support you structuring ideas and concepts in your assignments
- Provide ways of increasing the analysis and evaluation of the evidence you discuss
- Teach you about academic integrity in your writing
Academic Writing Developers provide support you in-person (at CU Coventry and CU London) and online, including:
- One-to-one individual appointments which can be booked online or by emailing your local AWS
- A series of workshops which run throughout the academic year (in conjunction with the Centre for Academic Writing)
- A broad range of support materials available from the AWS LibGuides to read/watch at your own pace
Sigma provides support for all Coventry University students and staff.
Sigma can:
- Support general maths skills
- Help with subject specific mathematics (e.g. Engineering maths, drugs calculations)
- Statistics support for producing and interpreting research data
Sigma provide a wide range of resources online, including:
- Workshops and training courses to improve your skills in areas such as statistics, mathematical software packages, PGCE numeracy tests, and employer numerical reasoning tests.
- Drop-in support sessions on most weekdays to ask maths and stats questions
- One-to-one appointments, which can be arranged by emailing the service.
