Academic English

Communicating at university is a little different to communicating at the pub or with your friends. In an academic environment, you will be expected to communicate in a way that is formal, precise, clear and acknowledges when you are borrowing other people's ideas. This can be either in speaking or in writing and is a skill you will need to develop whether English is your first or second language. The workshops below will help you learn to better communicate in an academic context.

Produce the phonemic chart to help you pronounce new words.
