The Centre for Academic Writing (CAW) is an innovative teaching and research centre whose mission is to enable students at Coventry University to become independent writers, and to equip academic staff in all disciplines to achieve their full potential as authors and teachers of scholarly writing.
CAW's short courses for PhD students aimed at developing research and publication writing are now open for registration for modules being taught in Semester One and Semester Two this academic year. These modules are: 'Thesis Writing: Processes and Orgnisation' (7012CAW) and 'Reviewing Research Literature' (7022CAW). Registration is via an online form:

The University of Maryland, College Park (in the United States) are conducting an Internal Review board (IRB no.: 2091700-5) approved paid study on the diversity of writing styles around the globe. They are seeking native and non-native (advanced) speakers of English (and/or Russian) to participate. Participants will be asked to author original writing samples for several different genres. Participation is entirely online, and compensation will be provided upon proper completion of study participation tasks.
