NEW WRITING SUPPORT SERVICE: Facilitated Writing Time Sessions

CAW is pleased to announce a new facilitated writing support service being piloted in Semester 1. These sessions give students the opportunity to come into CAW’s Academic Writing Studio for two hours to work on a current writing assignment or a final year dissertation or project.

During these dedicated sessions, students will have the opportunity to speak to an Academic Writing Tutor while concentrating on their writing or integrating sources. To facilitate this, registration is restricted to 16 places per session.

CAW Single Question Drop-in Sessions - October - December 2024

These no appointment necessary drop-in sessionsre scheduled each day Monday – Friday on the ground floor of Lanchester Library during peak demand teaching weeks each semester. The sessions are designed for students to be able to speak to an Academic Writing Tutor to provide quick support, advice, and guidance up to a maximum of 10-minutes per person.

Popular topics asked during these sessions include, but not limited to: referencing; punctuation; sentence structure; grammar; style; critical writing etc.

Academic Writing Development Workshops - September - December 2024

CAW’s writing workshops are designed to introduce you to various academic writing topics to help with writing within your assignments. They last either up to one- or two-hours and are delivered online via Microsoft Teams. Each workshop is repeated throughout each semester, so you only need to attend each session once.
