From Monday 3rd August 2020 you can use our click and collect service to request physical library stock. Library staff will fetch the items from our shelves and, once they are ready for collection, we will send a confirmation email that your items are ready for collection. Requests will normally be ready for collection within 24 hours. Items will be held for a maximum of one week before being returned to the shelves. If for any reason we can’t supply an item we’ll let you know.
Remember that many of our books are available as ebooks and we would encourage library members to use ebooks as an alternative to printed copies where these are available on Locate.
Please use Locate to search the item you require and, if it is showing as available, request the item in the normal way. We regret that it is not possible to request items that are currently on loan. You can order a maximum of 10 items.
Once the requested item is ready for collection, you will receive an email confirming that it is available and giving you further instructions for collection.
You will be able to collect the requested items between 08:00– 22:00, once you have received the confirmation email.
Access to the library is from the Gosford Street entrance only, and you will need your ID card to enter through the pass door (the revolving door is closed). You may have to join a queue if we are busy, please observe social distancing. A one way system is in operation so once you have collected your books please follows the signs to exit towards the Frank Whittle building.
If you need a journal article from a print journal where we do not have the electronic version, please email firstname.lastname@example.org and we arrange to scan and email this to you.
Our document supply service for items not in stock either in print or electronic is still available. Please note that because of COVID most libraries are currently not loaning their print stock through document supply, but we can still supply digital material where available.
