International Open Access Week is almost here! Open Access Week is an annual event to celebrate the open sharing of knowledge. It is an opportunity to learn about the benefits of making research Open Access and encourage wider participation in helping to make scholarship and research openly and freely available.
This year's theme is "Community over Commercialization", encouraging us to think about what open scholarship practices benefits academic and public communities, and what do it. It is also offers an opportunity to celebrate our academic community, and highlight the research going on that is making an impact partially by being made openly available for those it will help.
Across the week, the Research and Scholarly Publications Team have arranged activities including Open Access Games, drop-ins to help set up profiles at our various Research Institutes, and a Research Café featuring a talk by core.ac.uk.
So come along and join us in celebrating our research community as well as our commitment to open knowledge sharing through Open Access. For more information, please contact oa.lib@coventry.ac.uk
