- Mintel This link opens in a new windowContains market research reports for the UK and China. After searching for a report, look for the Databook link to download the data as an Excel spreadsheet.
- Passport Euromonitor (GMID) This link opens in a new windowAs well as market research reports, Passport Euromonitor contains economic indicators such as GDP, inflation rates, balance of payments, interest rates etc.
- FAME (Financial Analysis Made Easy) This link opens in a new windowContains financial data about companies in the UK and Ireland.
Free sources of data and statistics:
- EurostatOfficial statistics from EU countries including those relating to economy and finance, population, industry and trade and regions.
- IMF DataThe IMF publishes a range of time series data on IMF lending, exchange rates and other economic and financial indicators. Manuals, guides, and other material on statistical practices at the IMF, in member countries, and of the statistical community at large are also available.
- OECD iLibraryContains country information including economic, finance and investment.
- OECD DataDevelopment, economy, environment, government, society etc. data for OECD countries.
- Office for National StatisticsThe official site for UK statistics. It covers the economy, business and trade, employment and population.
- Sport England Active LivesThis site allows you to search Sport England's Active Lives survey dataset. You can find the number of people playing particular sports by region and other demographic measures.
- UK Data ServiceBrings together a wide variety of statistical data from trusted sources.
- United Nations Data SetsCountry specific, population and economic data.
- World Bank - World Development IndicatorsThe primary World Bank collection of development indicators, compiled from officially-recognized international sources. It presents the most current and accurate global development data available, and includes national, regional and global estimates.
- UK Government DatabaseFind data published by central government, local authorities and public bodies to help you build products and services.
Google's Dataset Search
Google's Dataset Search allows you to search for data on a range of websites, including Statista and many of the free sources above. This can be worth searching, but bear in mind it may show you data that is not freely available. As with all Google searches, it will also provide sources which may not be reliable. It is therefore essential that you critically evaluate the source of data before including it in your assignments
