We can provide alternative formats for your module's essential reading.
If you require a hard copy book: we purchase the book for general library stock, reserving it for you for first use.
If you require an ebook: we purchase the ebook, but if that's not possible we approach the publisher for a watermarked PDF or EPUB for your sole use.
RNIB Bookshare
RNIB Bookshare provides ebooks in a variety of alternative formats such as Word, mp3, EPUB, Daisy or braille via their website. This service is available to students with a print disability, including those with SpLD (dyslexia, dyspraxia, dyscalculia, ADHD, autism and sensory impairments). If the book you require isn't on RNIB Bookshare, we will endeavour to obtain it for you, either throught RNIB, or directly from the publisher. RNIB - information for students.
You must be known to the Disabilities Office to apply for alternative formats for your essential reading or to use RNIB Bookshare. If you haven't already done so please make a booking to see a member of the team. If you have already spoken to them you can contact your librarian to arrange for alternative formats and Gill (below) to arrange for your personal RNIB account. If you have any questions, please contact the Disabilities Coordinator Gill Evans at gill.evans@coventry.ac.uk
