London ASU: Academic Writing Tutorials

What is an Academic Writing Tutorial?

These 45-minute tutorials offer more in-depth help with writing your assignment. Our tutors can advise you on a range of topics, from planning and research to developing strong arguments and polishing your language. 

You can book a tutorial at any stage of the writing process, from planning to polishing. You can only book one tutorial at a time and one tutorial per week. Any multiple appointments found on the system will be cancelled.

Possible areas of focus could include:

• Improving your academic style
• Organising your ideas
• Developing your vocabulary
• Structuring your writing
• Using evidence to support your ideas
• Understanding your assignment brief
• Planning your assignment

All ASU academic writing tutorials are delivered online via Microsoft Teams or in person on campus. All CAW academic writing tutorials are delivered online ONLY.

Once you have booked, you will receive a booking confirmation email. Please email a copy of your assignment brief and any writing you have done at least 24 hours before your appointment to academic.skills@culc.coventry.ac.uk. If you have booked an online tutorial, your tutor will call you on MS Teams at the time of your appointment. If you have booked an on-campus tutorial, please come to the Library desk on the 3rd floor.
