What is a Research Skills Tutorial?

Research Skills tutorials are 45-minute, 1-1 consultations designed to support your study skills development. These workshops are delivered by friendly Librarians who can advise you on a range of topics, from research to referencing.

These sessions might include:

• APA Citing and Referencing
• Avoiding Plagiarism
• Linking theory to practice (e.g. in Blog Writing and Reflective Writing)
• Critical Thinking
• Finding Information (Research; Using Databases)
• Getting Started with Your Dissertation (Structure)
• Synthesising sources (e.g. Writing a Literature Review)

Research Skills

Once you have booked, you will receive a booking confirmation email. If you have booked an online tutorial, we will call you on MS Teams at the time of your appointment. If you have booked an on campus tutorial, please come to the Library desk on the 3rd floor.
