The Academic Writing Service (AWS) works with all CU Coventry students to support and develop your academic writing skills and knowledge. We can help you to progress as a student at university and achieve the grades you know you can get. We have been successfully working with CU Coventry students throughout their academic journeys since 2015, so we know how important this time is for you and what it takes to succeed.

The English Language Support Tutor is here to work with students who speak English as a second or additional language and are struggling with their studies due to their level of English literacy and/or oracy skills. The service aims to improve students’ English proficiency in:

If you need to refer multiple students at once, please email EnglishLanguageSupport.cuc@coventry.ac.uk with answers to the below questions for each student. If necessary we will contact you for further details regarding the student's needs.

Academic Writing Developer
Jas joined the AWS team in January 2025. She is an EAP specialist with experience in teaching Pre-sessional, In-sessional, and Transnational Education programmes at Coventry University for. Before joining AWS, she was the Academic Practice Tutor for the Faculty of Health and Social Care at CU Coventry. She holds a MA in English Language Teaching and Applied Linguistics and is currently undertaking her PhD in Global Education.
English Language Tutor
I-Chen holds a PhD in Applied Linguistics. Before joining the Library and Learning Service team at CU Coventry, she worked in different EFL/ESL/EAP contexts in Taiwan and Mexico. In the UK, she has taught pre-sessional programmes at the University of Birmingham and research methodology modules at the University of Warwick.
