Microsoft Word is the most common word processing software in the world. It is available for free on-campus machines, and to download or use on your own device whilst you are a student with CU Scarborough. It is simple to use, but there are many features that will make writing longer assignments easier and make the finished essay look professional. It is probably the software you will use the most for your studies, so getting confident with it will really pay off.

It is important to organise your work in a logical order, this will make it easier to find your documents when uploading your assignments.
Files
Files are the Word documents, presentations, or documents you create when you do an assignment.
Folder
Folders can be created to store your Files. It is recommended to organise your files in a logical way. These can be organised by your course name, or by file types.
1. Click on Journey > Assignments.
2. In this tab, you will see all assignments on your module ordered by their due date. Icons to the left of each assignment will help you determine if an assignment is set up in Turnitin or Handin.
3. Click on a Turnitin assignment to upload your paper.
4. Click on Upload Submission > Choose file and select a file from your computer. File size should not exceed 100MB.
5. Type in the title for your submission and click on Upload and Review.
6. Under the Review tab, you will see the summary of your submission with its Title, File size, and Word Count, as well as an option to preview your file.
7. Confirm with Submit to Turnitin when you're ready.
8. Your file will now appear in the Assignment Dashboard.
1) Swipe your ID Card on the card reader located next to the print display.
2) You should be logged straight in to use the service.
3) If this does not work, your card may need to be registered for the first time.
you will be prompted to enter a Username & Password. You only need to do this once, and it can be done at any of the university printers.
Note: Username is the same as university log on and The Password is case sensitive!
