These pages bring together all the information we think you'll need in order to succeed at University.
We've tried to organise these pages into logical sections - there's quite a bit to cover and it could be overwhelming if it's all just dumped in a pile!
Some of the content on these pages is stuff we've made ourselves, some comes from across the University Group, and some comes from across the world. We try to give the creators credit where we've not made something ourselves (that's one of the key concepts behind referencing, after all!), but if we've fallen short please let us know.

Find out more about Writing essays, reports and giving presentations. - Developing Your SkillsThis section takes you through, How to read effectively, Different learning techniques, Critical thinking, and writing, and Research skills.
- Academic EnglishThis section offers help and support with areas like spelling, grammar and punctuation, as well as forming good sentences and paragraphs. There is also a section focused on academic style and phrasing, to help you sound like you know what you're talking about even if you don't feel like you do!
- Literature ReviewThis section will guide you through how to research and conduct a literature review. It will guide you through each stage of the literature review, including what to do and what not to do.
- Digital SkillsThis section helps you to become a more confident and competent user of hardware and software used by the University. Learn how to use Microsoft WORD and format documents to complete your assignments.
- Get SupportThe final section is there to help you get the support you need. Follow the link to book one-to-ones with the library staff (face-to-face or online) to support you with referencing, finding sources to complete your assignments, and learn how to use library resources.
