Spaces can be booked in the Library for a maximum of four hours per day and up to a week in advance. The following terms and conditions apply:
The library is for individual silent study only. Please observe this.
On arrival please have your proof of booking and your ID card. You will not be admitted to the Library without both items.
In-line with University policy you are expected to wear a face covering in communal areas where social distancing can’t be maintained. Please ensure you comply (unless exempt) and be kind to our staff if they remind you.
Please do not arrive more than five minutes before your allotted slot.
If you can no longer attend, please cancel your booking so that it can be allocated to someone else. We reserve the right to withdraw the right to book a space from students who fail to attend a booking or bookings without a valid reason.
You will be allocated a specific desk number at time of booking. Please ensure you sit in the correct space as these have been laid out to ensure social distancing.
We request that you wipe down your workstation prior to use. There are wipe stations on each floor.
If you borrow a laptop for use in the library, please also you ensure that you wipe it down at the start and the end of your loan. Loans are for a maximum of 4 hours and please make sure you plug the laptop back in on return otherwise you will receive a fine.
Group spaces such as sofas and group rooms are designated as single study spaces only or closed for safety reasons to maintain social distancing.
Please make sure you obey social distancing rules and any signs in the communal areas of the Library such as toilets.
Please do not use the lift. If you have a disability, your card will work for the staff lift. Please only enter 1 at a time. If you think you should have lift access, please alert a member of staff at the Welcome Desk who will assist you.
You are welcome to browse the stock. Please make sure you place any handled stock on the shelving trollies around the floors.
If you wish to borrow or return books, you can do this using the self-service points and these will be wiped down at regular intervals during the day. You can also use click and collect through Locate.
At the end of your booking please bin all rubbish and clean down your workstation with the available wipes.
Please ensure you leave promptly at the end of your booking and ensure that the space is clean and tidy for the next user.
Failure to comply with the terms and condition will result in you being asked to leave the library. You may subsequently have the ability to book a study space withdrawn if we conclude that your conduct may endanger the safety of others.
