Using the Library: Renew

Automatic Renewals

All standard loan and one week items you borrow will automatically be renewed 2 days before the due date, unless: 

• Another user has requested the item. If you see "Recalled" next to any item you have on loan in your library account this means that another user has placed a reservation on it and you will not be able to renew.
• The item has reached its 12 months maximum renewal period.
• You have library charges on your account.
• There is a block on your account.
• The item is not renewable eg Laptop etc.
• Your course has or is due to finish.

If any items cannot be renewed you will receive a courtesy notice and you must return the items within 2 days. To avoid charges, please return or renew your books before their due date.

How to renew

You can also renew the library item manually through - 

• Online

1. Login to Locate with your Coventry University username and password

2. Click on your name and then 'My Account'

3. Click on the button next to the books you would like to renew, or click on if you would like to renew all of the items you have out on loan, under the tab 'Loan'. 

• Telephone - Call 024 7765 7555 during service desk opening hours. You will need your ID card number and details of the book(s) you wish to renew.
• In person - Bring your books to the library and use the self-service machines.
