CAW’s online academic writing resources are designed to help students with their writing assignments throughout their student journey. These resources are a great place to start with writing support for your assignments.

These facilitated writing sessions give students the opportunity to come into CAW’s Academic Writing Studio for two hours to work on a current writing assignment or a final year dissertation or project. During these sessions, students will have the opportunity to speak to an Academic Writing Tutor while concentrating on their writing.

Coventry University students may have a ‘seen exam’ during their course of study or be required to pass an IELTS exam before they begin their studies with us. The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) is designed to help students study in a country where English is the main language.

CAW runs no appointment necessary drop-in sessions Monday-Friday during the peak teaching weeks each semester on the ground floor of Lanchester Library. These are designed for students to be able to talk to one of our Academic Writing Tutors on any aspect of academic writing for 10-minutes.

CAW offers guidance on in-text citations, paraphrasing, and reference lists within a student's written assignments during academic writing tutorials and our single question drop-in sessions. Every course has a specialist Librarian called an Academic Liaison Librarian. Librarians offer a more comprehensive referencing support service.
