The letter “sigma” (∑ - upper case and σ – lower case) is the 18th letter of the Greek alphabet, corresponding to our Roman letter ‘s’. It is much loved by mathematicians and statisticians. sigma is the name of the team at Coventry delivering mathematics and statistics support to ALL Coventry students.
sigma tutors are ready to help students, whether undergraduate or postgraduate, from ALL subject areas and at ALL levels with ANY mathematics or statistics problems. They aim to build students' confidence, improve their understanding and develop more effective strategies for learning mathematics and statistics and will endeavour to answer all questions about mathematics or statistics in the context of the subject you are studying, regardless of what course you are on. No question is ever too elementary or trivial.

Coventry University students are allocated a Student Success Coach at the start of their student journey. These Coaches will help you to identify, prepare for, and reflect on interactions with the many university services available ensuring you make the most of every opportunity.
Working closely with your Coach, you can identify areas where you want to develop and improve your skills and abilities. You will set goals for yourself and decide how you will achieve these. Student Success Coaches work closely with specialist teams across the university and will refer you to them as appropriate to develop these skills.
