These online appointments are suitable for students who cannot, or do not, attend Coventry University campus. These appointments allow you to see and talk with an Academic Writing Tutor using Microsoft Teams.
These appointments are suitable for students who have used CAW's academic writing tutorial service already and understand the guidance and feedback given during these appointments. An Email appointment is not recommended for students who have not used CAW services before.
In email appointments, a CAW Academic Writing Tutor reads through the students' assignment draft provide written feedback by using the 'comments' feature within Microsoft Word. Students submit their assignment brief and assignment draft, highlighting areas of their academic writing they would like written feedback and writing guidance on, the day before their booked appointment time.
CAW reserves the right to change the type of appointment a student has made should our experienced Academic Writing Tutors feel that a student is not benefiting through the type of appointments being booked.

If a student books Online (Microsoft Teams) appointments and regularly experiences connection issues, then we will advise the student that In-Person appointments must be made. Not being able to hear or understand the guidance and advice using the online appointment option does not help the student get the most from our services.
If a student is only booking Email appointments and it is felt that the student is not learning from the advice being given and implementing the advice in other areas of their assignment, then we will advise the student they must attend an Online or In-Person appointment. At one of these appointments, an Academic Writing Tutor can then have a conversation with a student to ensure they get the most out of our services.
